SUPAR Team Takes Second Place in Challenge 2 as Two SUPAR Teams Compete

Two SUPAR teams competed in the second Construction Challenge Regional Rally, held in Milwaukee at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.  Students were put through a grueling day, involving three separate challenges relating to urban infrastructure, manufacturing design, and mechanical and electrical repair.  At the end of the day, SUPAR's "JJ" Team took second place in the second challenge relating to manufacturing design.

The manufacturing design challenge required that students take a bag of ordinary household materials--rope, craft sticks, a spatula, and other items--and build a piece of equipment to move and sort balls and cubes.  Prior to the competition, students were given some information about the materials they would have to work with, but some details were left purposely fuzzy, so that students needed to think on their feet and work as a team at the competition to solve the problem.

Congratulations to Raymond, Jasmine, JoNathan, and Jalisa on their JJ Team win.

Congratulations to Marco, Maria, and Beth of the SUPAR Bridge 6 team for their terrific team spirit and hard work.

This is the second year that SUPAR has taken part in the Construction Challenge Competition.  This year, SUPAR's UWM partner, the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, hosted the event at the UWM Union.
